Week 6 In a good place
So I can say that I am pleasantly surprised with my new position. It is pretty intense talking to people about their loved ones passing but it is not as bad as I thought it would be. The up side to it all is that I am so busy that time flies by. I am not used to that being the case. Normally in my old position I would be staring at the clock bored out of my mind. The downside to that is I cannot watch any netflix at work (whop, whop, whop). I think that I will remain in this role for some time. At least the required 6 months to be able to apply for the position that I was really gunning for. For the time being I am happy with the decisions I made and the place that I am in right now.

Started my new position.
I have had quite a hectic week. For starters last week I was sick and starting a new position with a whole different schedule. Now if that wasn't enough then I came down with the flu at the same time. On top of that my brother in law ended up in the hospital because his heart stopped for 8 seconds. SO I had to high tail it to South Seminole hospital to be there for him and my sister. This week seems to be settling down. However in my new position we started taking phone calls. Now I work for Chase Bank and I have been in their collections division for 4 years. The new position is in the estates department which handles all deceased notifications. Most people would think I am crazy to want to talk to grieving family members all day, but interestingly enough they are not that sad when they call in. Which me personally I find kind of strange, but to each his own.
Yesterday was the first day we started taking calls. It began with me not having any idea what I was doing and then I had another person sitting with me listening to what I was doing. Needless to say they said that I sounded disinterested in the phone calls I was taking. I on the other hand disagreed and said that its not that I was disinterested I was lost and confused. At the end of the day I had a better understanding of what I was doing. I realized that it will take time for me to get good at my new position the same way that it took me time to get used to my old one.
Sometimes I find it very interesting how different people respond to different situations. I've gone through many trainings in my life whether it be work or school or the Army. Each time the person that you think will be the most confident fails and the one that you think will leave is the one that ends up being the best of the best. In this training history did repeat itself. The person that in our book work training thought they knew everything and yesterday was the first one to panic and almost cry ready to quit. I actually found a quote for her to try and make her feel better. The quote was "A Smooth sea never made a skilled sailor." She came back today more confident and said that what I quoted made her feel better.

Just don't know
Ok so this time I'm not going to talk about health or nutrition, because quite frankly I'm tired. This has been a long middle of the week for me. I've started the new position at work. This was the first position not the second one that I truly wanted and pays more. Anyways, So the training started this week and even though the class and the trainer are interesting enough somehow the class manages to be boring. I guess that's with any training class. In call centers boredom is a product of that type of environment. So now I have a morning schedule and let me tell you I am not a morning person. So needless to say I am tired. There is another full day for tomorrow. Not a very interesting post today but maybe more humorous next time.

Grown people problems
So not to steer away from a more positive outlook in my blogs which is what I've been trying to do. I need to vent about a situation at work. To start I applied for a promotion at work and received a position that was a promotion but it didn't actually come with a promotion. I was originally disappointed but excited that I would be learning a new role. However within days of accepting my the position a previous position that I have been dying to apply for posted. So I checked with my manager and he gave me the green light due to business need. So I went for it. Aced the interview and was told by everyone that I had it in the bag. So on I went thinking that I was getting the position I wanted and the promotion that came with it until all of a sudden I got a call from my boss telling me that because I had accepted the first role that I could not be moved into the role that I wanted.
Lets just say I had a few choice words and was honestly broken hearted about the whole thing. So tomorrow I'm going to talk to upper management and see if I can express my position and see if I can get a vote to move to the position I want. ultimately I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. So wish me luck in pleading my case.

Not vegan anymore
Ok so I said previously that I was going to gear my posts towards fitness. So I went Vegan like two weeks ago and now I'm not Vegan anymore. Kind of comical I know, but the reason it did not work was because i was getting very sluggish and I did'nt feel good at all. At the end of the day you always need to listen to your body and mine was telling me NOOOOO! So now I'm eating beef, poultry, and fish but it is all organic. I have seen some change within a week nothing drastic just something that I would notice. I am still juicing and I feel more energized thanks to that. I have stepped up my game at the gym as well. I am always pretty fit and active but now I'm doing more intense work outs.
One thing that I have noticed making a big difference in my results is eating every 3 hours. I know what you are thinking that its took often. Not really honestly I get hungry often so it makes sence that I eat every 3 hours. It does have to be small things though. For instance I will have some organic oatmeal for breakfast and then 3 hours later I have a fruit. Then lunch and a snack all 3 hours apart. It keeps you from getting hungry which keeps your insulin stable and your metabolism up. All essential for losing maintaining weight.
If anyone has any questions or needs tips or advice I'm always free to help. Fitness is a passion of mine and I like inspiring others and educating people on the right way to do things instead of the heavily advertised quick fixes. Our bodies are our temples and we need to treat them right after all we only get one temple.

Going Vegan
Ok so for this post I am going to try and be more positive than the last. I decided as of the other day that I am going to eat vegan only. To my surprise I have had a lot of negative feedback about my new revelation. It seems that the most common response I receive is "WHY". So I reply with "WHY NOT". The reason for this decision was due to a documentary that I watched, as you might have guessed two days ago, and it made me rethink things. Now this was not the only reason for this change. Prior to this I did view some other documentaries regarding the meat industry and food industry in general.
It turns out that we either turn a blind eye or are just very unaware to the methods used food industry as far as treatment of animals and also meat and produce preparation. I bet you have no idea where the steak or chicken you ate comes from. Well that was the quam I had with it. The packaging can say what it is but I have no idea how the animal was slaughtered and what was put on the meat to clean it and keep it from spoiling. I bet you didn't know that a common practice of these food industries is to clean the meat using ammonia, yes I said that right ammonia. When you eat that steak or that burger just know that you are consuming meat that has been cleansed and preserved with things that you use to clean your house with.
Before I made the decision to go completely vegan I was eating grass fed meat and eating free range poultry because I thought it was truly humane. However I did find out that the grass fed or free range animals were still being mistreated and the preparation of the meat or eggs or milk for the matter did not change in any way. So I felt that if there is no way that I can be sure how an animal was slaughtered and how its meat was prepared thereafter then I decided that the only way I can control it would be to not eat it at all. This is the third day of my newly vegan diet and to my surprise it was not that bad. I am happy with my decision and I am sure I will be posting more about it moving forward. Stay tuned!

My first ever ever blog about new years resolutioners
So with this being my first blog I am not going to try and come down hard on society for the way that people do things but since it is fitting, my number one pet peeve is New Years resolution's people. I only say that because I am an avid gym goer and there is no time like the present that I hate so much. Now don't get me wrong I don't disagree with one reinventing them self but all at the same dam* time like come on.
I highly dislike that there are no machines available and that there are people doing things that I'm almost 100% sure are not an exercise and 95% sure that they should not being doing outside of the privacy of their home. Another fun thing to see is all of the New Year New You runners everywhere. Next time you are driving down the road count how many there are and if you don't know if they are new or not trust me they are. No Floridian will run in freezing temperatures during the frost of 2014 unless it was fueled but non other than a New Years Resolution to get fit.
This is not to down anyone or to discourage anyone who might have their own New Years resolution my only thing that I guess I'm trying to convey here is that there is no reason that this reinvention of yourself needs to be postponed or dead lined for blast off just because its the new year. After all there is no time like the present and no day like today to do what you want to do. In the meantime we will have to just stave off the New Years resolutionists as I like to call them, Until they have run out of steam, which will probably be around February of 2014 lol.
